Judy,  I agree that the blue color of EP's gown is beautiful.  If my ship ever comes in and I could see Elaine's costume in person, it might look very different to me.   No negativity intended.  What I didn't say which was really the main point I failed to make is that I'm afraid EP might catch her shoe in the abundance of material that goes almost to the floor!  She's a pro, but she often holds the dress up with one hand.  It would be fun to watch her dance in this show where you could see her steps more easily.  I love the women's group dancing.

I agree with Judy, I think she looks exactly like a diva moviestar from the 70s should look. And I love the colour. Smiley

HELLO EVERYONE!!!

This is my first post on the Forum, as a life-long Elaine fan, and on the day I not only find out that Elaine is returning to Broadway - I live in the UK - but that it just so happens I will be making my first ever trip to the States in October...to New York...and Elaine will be on stage!!! I am DELIGHTED and so excited!!

I have seen Elaine twice in London the fast few years, once at the Theatre Royal Dury Lane for her 40th anniversary concert - which TOTALLY blew me away, and again last year at the Royal Festival Hall. I NEVER DREAMED I would get to see Elaine in a full musical production, let alone on BROADWAY!! (I am 28 and never had the opportunity to see Elaine in any of her famous on-stage roles in the 80s).

My apologies for yabbiting on...but im EXCITED!!!!

Great to be part of the forum  Grin

Martin.

I hope you enjoy Follies.  It is a fantastic production of a great musical that Elaine is wonderful in. Smiley

And you just might get to say hello by the stage door - I did in DC. Wink

Welcome Mark.

Please do check with the theatre though because Ticketmaster has a note on their site that EP will not be performing in Follies from Nov. 7th - 27th.

I have no further confirmation of these dates but if you contact the theatre this early perhaps they would allow an exchange if this is true?

All the best to you.

I noticed that as well on Ticketmaster's site - that EP will be out of the show from 11/7 - 11/27.  So, I'm now going to see the show in Sept.  I saw it in May and LOVED IT!

I saw it the Tuesday after!  Think it was someone's birthday.  Roll Eyes Wink

I also saw it a few other times and uh, have a few tickets to see it in NY as well.  I will be forming a support group soon I think. Wink

I am a long time fan of Elaine's (about 20 years now, a significant portion of my lifetime) and new fan of Follies, Sondheim, Bernadette, and the rest of the cast.

But. . . I do LOVE Elaine Paige.  Kiss

I also thought her dress must have been hard to dance in..but I also thought all of the long dresses look like they might make some one trip,

Life goes on.
