I will post much more later of course but I am soooo happy I went to the first preview of Follies on Broadway this Sunday.  Note to self: travelling alone to see EP in a musical is ALWAYS a good decision.  Can you believe us all at the stage door?

That "blonde woman" in the front signing autographs is our very own EP! Wink  I was very happy to get some photos of her if not with her.  I couldn't stay long enough for all the stars to come out since I had a bus to catch.

Fantastic performance.  Every performer, right on.  Energy on the stage and in the audience, amazing.  Just well, truly incredible.

All this past weekend:

Finally saw Anything Goes (in a fantastic production with Joel Grey - hadn't seen him since Chicago in about 1997 - and Sutton Foster to boot) and loved it even more than I expected I would.

Saw Jerusalem and an amazing performance by Mark Rylance.

Saw Rebecca Luker on stage for the first time in 10 years (and her voice is still gorgeous) in a new musical that had some other extremely strong performers.

Best stage door experience EVER.  Not to mention I got my second photo with EP and my first with Bernadette Peters.  Roll Eyes

Happy.  Amazing.  Incredible.  Smiley

Think my most incredible would be seeing Howard Keel at the Barbican on his 74th birthday; wonderful concert, his wife brought on a cake for him at the end and we all sang Happy Birthday to him then I got to meet him for the first time ever - will never forget that moment, always loved him but that was the night I fell in love irrevocably  Smiley

May have said this before and probably have, but it was actually seeing EP on stage in a musical, i.e. Follies, rather than concerts. Just wish her role had been a bigger one. But Carlotta was perfect for her and so was the song.

Man of La Mancha is in my top 5 shows Charlene - absolutely love it and would love to see it in the west end if any nice producer would revive it for us!

Think seeing EP in Drowsy Chaperone on Queen Victoria's birthday folowed by a drinks reception with the lady herself ranks quite high!
