Wow!!! What can I say other than THANK YOU Elaine - if you do ever read this you'll know just how heartfelt that is. Knowing it was the final concert was a bit emotional - who knows when we in the UK will get to see Elaine again but what a night.

The audience were great, really into it and supportive from the start, sound fantastic (almost as good as at Cardiff!) and Elaine certainly on form enjoying herself.

Then it happened - she sang Memory, standing ovation, and then Elaine said about it being the last night of the tour and she's had some faithful followers and the next song was being sung for them - "You know who you are" - and Grow Young appears! I'm still incredibly emotional and it's now the next morning. I'd begged Elaine to sing it at both Blackpool and then again at Cardiff - and she did!  Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley

Had a lovely chat with Elaine and thanked her profusely after the show as well. Bob and Alan - thanks for your company, made it all the more special having such great friends to share it with  Smiley

What a class act - there truly is, and never will be, anyone else like Elaine  Kiss

Glad to hear that the concert in Torquay was great.  Smiley

I hope EP is aware of the fact that not all her loyal fans live in the UK and could therefore not afford to see all her 12 concerts.

I'd pay money to hear Elaine singing the telephone directory.

Elaine Paige is the very best!!

Of course she is Tugger - you're one of her loyal, faithful followers too and I'm sure that ALL those fans who have followed her for years were on her mind at the time. Many fans like yourself have been there for her for years and she appreciates each and every one  Smiley

The only way I could do this was as I've made it my holiday for the year - no two weeks away anywhere for me, just some wonderful EP memories  Wink

There are also many fans who've never managed to see EP for all sorts of reasons - doesn't make them any less of a fan. Supporting EP through listening to her music and EPOS etc is just as important - all fans matter to EP. It was just very sweet of her to do that at the last concert  Smiley

Clair, what a lovely memory and recognition from Elaine for all your efforts! I was Claire who said hello at Gateshead!!!
I also love " Grow Young" I saw her sing it live in London many years ago at a very emotional time when my then husband and I had sadly split, and I just love that song so much. EP although she doesn't know has been through every stage of my life -ever since my late Mum used to play "Memory" on 45 inch record over and over again!  I even had a lovely singer sing " All I ask of you" ( from EP's Essential Musicals"  in the Church when I married my lovely Stu, 4 years ago. Sadly Elaine wasn't available that day to sing for us!! She missed a good day though!! But seriously I am so glad that you and the rest of the "girls" got the recognition you deserved for supporting her so much!!! Cheesy

Maybe she should have also done this in London when she knew there were many fans from abroad in the audience.

Thanks Birdie - am sure the other girls appreciated it too, such a lovely way to end those 12 performances. Guess it would really only have worked at the last one when audiences tend to be more indulgent over thank you's etc!

Fantastic idea Birdie  Smiley
What a brilliant show that would be - but I get to choose who ends up in the swimming pool as all great events there demand!!!!
