Trust me - if you want weird for a teen  have a look at some of Seb's posts - he's operathephantom on here! Have a look through some of the other threads in this section - we have fave female/male singer, tv shows, who we've met, who we'd like to meet - even fave books so you can get to know us a bit

My personal fave is Howard Keel - no-one like him, nor ever will be  Wink

He's the gorgeous, talented, amazing, sensational lead in all three of them - does it show I'm a fan? Wink

The male singer one is on the second page of this section - about halfway down  Smiley

I believe I am going out on a limb here by stating that I like most genres of music but not all performers within that particular musical style.

I grew up listening to the likes of Patsy Cline, Reba McEntire, George Strait, and Dolly Parton as well as Mario Lanza, Lawrence Welk, Frank Sinatra, Barbara Streisand, The Everly Brothers, Elvis, the Bee Gee's, ABBA, Michael Jackson and the juke box hits from the '50's.

In my teen years I developed a taste for bands like Heart, Aerosmith, The Steve Miller Band, and Journey.

As an adult I can reflect on an expansive collection of music and still fondly listen to all of it, depending on my mood.

I only regret not hearing EP earlier in life so that I could have appreciated her among the top ranks of my favorites while I was growing up, not to mention the fact that I could have heard some of her earlier work.

Not at all - I'm exactly the same, hence I love EP dislike Streisand! There are many songs I like sung by one person - and then dislike when sung by someone else as well. For example I really dislike the beatles but doo like many of their songs when done as covers by the likes of the carpenters, elton john etc  Smiley

Do I dare...I loved the 50's, 60's, grew up with the easy listening sounds, slow dancin', but rock too.  I liked the folk music and protest sounds of the 60's during my college days...Vietnam days.  I like gospel, new age, classical, country, jazz, some blues, big band sounds, many musicals, enough...I love music.  Thank you EP for a new chapter.

Clair-
Oooohhh, The Carpenters.  I loved them too.  Such a shame to have lost Karen so soon in life.  I came across one of their CDs at the library.  I think I will borrow that one this week.  Thanks for the reminder.

You are so right, Gloria.  I went to see Paul Anka...still love him.  I saw the Righteous Brothers...super.  I've been to see Johnny Mathis several times...he brings back many memories.
There are many others...They were good then and now.
