So, what do we all like reading then? Any recommendations of books that you think everyone should read - or that they should avoid like the plague?!

I have just finished reading both of John Barrowmans autobiographies. A good entertaining read with a few EP memories thrown in too.
I am also a Dr Who fan so his anecdotes on that and Torchwood were also interesting. Its a funny, articulate read.    Review over xxx Smiley

Autobiographies are usually good fun - think my favourite is Felicity Kendal's one, really interesting.
I love Elinor Brent-Dyer, Mary Higgins Clark, Barbara Erskine, Karin Slaughter, Brontes, Dickens, LM Alcott, Maeve Binchy and so many others  Smiley

Two of my favourite books of all time that never fail to make me laugh are by a little know writer called Joyce Fussey.  Cows in the Corn and Milk my Ewes and Weep.

The last one I read was "The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie (Flavia De Luce Mystery 1)" by Alan Bradley
and the biography of Alan Rickman.

Love some James Michener--Poland is my fave.  Also love Mexico.  He does tend to go back in history before dirt--but I enjoy his story telling.

Have read Of Mice and Men and also seen an opera version--agree with you Sandra--I find it a little disturbing!

I read Sweetness at the bottom of the pie over Christmas - a good read.  A Fine Balance is one of my all time favourites.

I really like Paulo Coelho, have read all his books. But there's so many good author! All the classics of  course, and I like James Rollins, Dan Brown and Raymond Khoury too. And Toni Morrison, James Baldwin and Nadine Gordimer. Smiley

My mother is a librarian so there were always great books around when i grew up. But many kids today have never read a book, isn't that scary?? I've learned so much from reading!
