Spoken to a friend who reckons ITV are broke and are cancelling things rather than commissioning at the moment so maybe we should stick to BBC for this one!

Yes...can confirm that there are all sorts of cutbacks and I think the same applies to BBC to a degree also. We will probably have to make do for the time being with Elaine's promotional appearances on the likes of The One Show/GMTV/and the various chat shows.

My friend has said he'll still put the idea forward and tell them to look on here for ideas from time to time - worth a try so it's in their minds whenever they do get some money together!

I can't believe Elaine never did An Audience With...
Still time, I hope. They did a Neil Diamond one the other week and I heard that they are bringing them back! I'd imagine that she was offered one in the past but perhaps it was difficult to schedule.
Michael Ball, Lesley Garret and Gary Wilmot have all had their own series on the Beeb, it seems so unfair.. Boo Hoo!
Bring back real entertainment to the TV, with EP!

I'd love to see An Audience with EP.

The Neil Diamond one was a repeat from when he was promoting his album over here last year. He did Jonathon Ross, An Audience with and the BBC Broadcast a whole concert from Glastonbury of his.

WHY NOT EP!? Undecided

Although, she has been on Strictly? Grin

I do think An Audience With would work so well now, Elaine is so much more relaxed these days I think she'd enjoy it - not so sure she would have done so a few years ago so maybe it's better that they've waited, as long as it happens in the not too distant future!

It would be nice if they could show "Phyllis Dixie" (spelling?)
with EP on TV again.

I'd pay money to hear Elaine singing the telephone directory.

I for one, think the Audience with E.P is a great idea. I wondered if she would be appearing on quite a few more shows this month to promote her new CD but i haven't seen much yet, does anyone know of any shows coming up? I know that Paul O'Grady sat in for her on her radio show, maybe he could invite her to sing if he still does his channel four show?

I could imagine that she will soon be on some Australian or New Zealand TV shows to promote her tour.

Therefore I hope that our forum member from Australia
will have an eye on that.

I'd pay money to hear Elaine singing the telephone directory.

Had another thought !!!! Sky Tv's channel SKY ARTS, have programmes celebrating various music performers. They would be ideal to do an Elaine Paige 40th Anniversary Documentary ??? If E.P's management are reading this, what do you think???? Grin

Sounds great - all of you with sky would have to let the rest of us have copies though! Would be wonderful to have some proper documentary/audience with to celebrate such an amazing 40 years - in fact why not both?!
